Way of use: Nasopharyngeal swabs: Carefully insert the swab into the nostril, reaching to the surface of the posterior part of the nasopharynx where most of the secretion is present. Swab the surface of the posterior nasopharynx. Rotate the swab several times. Remove the swab from the nasopharynx. Nasal swabs: Carefully insert the swab into one nostril. The tip of the swab should be inserted no less than 2.5 cm (1 inch) from the edge of the nostril. Roll the swab 3-4 times along the mucosa in the nostril to ensure that both mucus and cells are collected. Leave the swab in the nostril for a few seconds. Using the same swab, repeat this process for the other nostril to ensure that adequate sample has been collected from both nasal cavities. Remove the swab from the nasal cavity.
